Create Artist In Residence Program

YACers Hunter, Hannah, and Michael (back row) joined Sara Manchester of Create and the five artists-in-residence teens who will begin the program this fall.  Robin, Jaden, Nato, Maaniinh, and Journey (front row, left to right) make up the inaugural class of students selected to begin a 4-month journey with Create Community Arts Studio to advance their abilities and build a portfolio.  An open house held in August allowed for these five students to be introduced to each other. The Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) supported this program with a $5,000 grant from the Youth Fund and the Tunison-Garlock Fund for Youth.  The grant will help to pay for the installation of lockers for the participants to use throughout the program, in addition to a stipend to purchase materials and supplies or for transportation to the Studio.  Learn more about this program in the Petoskey News-Review or at letscreatetogether.org.
