beaver island Performing Arts alliance - holiday concerts

The Beaver Island Performing Arts Alliance enriches the lives of year-round residents of and tourists to Beaver Island with high-quality performing arts programming, including their signature event, Baroque on Beaver, a world-class summer music festival featuring superb musicians and attracting an ever-growing circle of visitors to Beaver Island. As a thank you to the local Islanders, on whose work BIPAA depends for hosting a successful event each year, they offer a jazz series in the shoulder season and a special holiday concert in December. The holiday concerts, one at the Beaver Island Community Center and one at the Beaver Island Community School, are becoming a popular tradition for Beaver Islanders to celebrate the holiday season. With winter scenes projected behind the musicians and the light of hundreds of candles on stage, the concert is a lovely way to celebrate the season and to provide a professional musical experience for locals, many of whom are too busy working in the summertime to enjoy the Baroque on Beaver festival. Last year’s concert was a big hit and this year’s show, on December 17 at 6:00 at the Community Center, promises to deliver that special holiday magic once again!
