Fourteen students regularly participated in the club—many of whom were not involved in any other extracurricular activities. Receiving official jerseys with a custom team logo helped build a strong sense of identity and pride. Students wore their jerseys on game days, which increased visibility, boosted morale, and gave them something to look forward to each week. Parents and students provided overwhelmingly positive feedback from the creation of this new team. Parents consistently cited benefits such as improved social connections, teamwork, confidence, leadership skills, and interest in technology and gaming. The club successfully built a strong community, boosted student confidence, and made school a more engaging place to be.

The coach of this pilot program, Dakotah, stated, “I also observed students developing sportsmanship, emotional control, and teamwork—key life skills reinforced by the sense of unity the jerseys helped create. I saw firsthand the importance of helping students develop mental toughness, resilience, and the ability to manage emotions during competition. These insights will help me strengthen the structure of the club moving forward and continue creating a space where students can thrive both socially and competitively.”
