National Volunteer Week, April 19-25, is a weeklong event established in 1974 to celebrate, thank, and raise awareness of the critical impact volunteers have on communities. It gives us a special chance to recognize the people who make our work possible, helping us respond to local needs and strengthen Charlevoix County.

Our Board of Trustees provides thoughtful leadership and careful stewardship, ensuring that every grant and program has a positive impact. Our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) brings youth voice and perspective to our conversations. Volunteers also review grant and scholarship applications, participate in community listening efforts, and help us better understand emerging community needs. Others act as ambassadors, assist with events, or share stories that highlight local impact. Skills‑based volunteers offer specialized professional expertise in areas like finance or legal support. Together, these contributions expand our reach, deepen our understanding of community priorities, and help ensure that our charitable resources create lasting, meaningful change.
