Charlevoix Circle of Arts Community Outreach Programs
A recent C3F Geographic Enrichment grant helped to support community outreach programs through the Charlevoix Circle of Arts. Designed to enhance access to the arts for residents of Charlevoix, CCA worked with partners such as the Charlevoix Historical Society, Charlevoix Public Library, Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Development Authority, and local schools to deliver initiatives addressing the need for free, inclusive, and engaging artistic experiences that connect and inspire the community. Some programs included offering free children’s art activities for hundreds of families during community events such as the Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting and Downtown Merchant Open House. They also worked with local schools, participating in the Charlevoix Elementary School Maker Faire where students took part in hands-on art activities through the school’s STEAM program. CCA also welcomed multiple school field trips to the gallery, allowing students to explore exhibitions, meet artists, and connect with creative expression in new ways. The growing demand for these programs highlights the importance of accessible cultural opportunities in rural areas like Charlevoix County, where families may have limited exposure to the arts. By offering free, high-quality programming in public spaces and schools, CCA ensures that creativity and cultural connection remain accessible to all. These activities continue to build a more creative, inclusive, and vibrant community, and we are here for it! Way to be, CCA!
