Charlevoix Historical Society South Pier Lighthouse Renovations
That’s why, when the lighthouse needed repainting, the Charlevoix Historical Society took the lead to help preserve this historic structure. It wasn’t as simple as a quick repaint job, though, because they first had to have certified contractors safely remove the old lead paint and clean everything up to ensure proper adhesion of the new paint. The care their team took in doing things right will benefit Charlevoix for many years to come since the fresh paint should last for quite a while now. A C3F Community Priorities grant helped to make this work possible, but the team pictured here is who really did the work!
