Crooked tree arts center - school of ballet
A recent Youth Needs grant helped Crooked Tree Arts Center School of Ballet support a Choreographic Mentorship Residency for the School of Ballet. The Residency offered dancers a taste of professional dance life and exposure to luminaries in the field, Richard Walters (School Principal & Rehearsal Director of Madison Ballet) and Robin Pettersen (Faculty Emeritus University of Wisconsin-Whitewater).
In addition to developing stronger problem-solving abilities and significantly improving their communication and leadership skills, the dancers experienced substantial growth, which enhances their individual diversity and strengthens their overall abilities.
C3F Youth Advancement staff member Megan and Boyne Falls YAC member Olivia attended the Nov. 1st Fall for Dance program where eight of the students’ works were performed. Four of these pieces were selected for a performance at the Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival in Kalamazoo in March 2026.
