Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra Free Community Concert

Nearly 700 people attended A Gift of Light, more than double GLCO’s typical April audience, made possible in part by a C3F Mini Grant. Many had never been to a GLCO performance before, and their presence underscored the essential role that music plays in times of hardship. Audience members shared stories of coming in from cold, dark homes to experience warmth, hope, and connection - a reminder of how the arts can comfort and unite us when we need it most. GLCO’s Executive Director, Andrea Ondras, shared that, “The impact of this C3F Mini Grant extended far beyond the music itself, it touched our audience, our artists, and the broader community in deeply meaningful ways. Hundreds of hearts left that night, filled with warmth, hope, and renewed connection, a powerful reminder of how music can lift the human spirit even in the darkest of times.
