Out in the Community with c3f The Manna food project

It's not often that we get the honor to help implement a grant that we award, but the folks at The Manna Food Project (Manna) were kind enough to let us lend a hand. Thank you to all of our Urgent Needs Fund donors who make projects like this possible. And thank you to the great Manna volunteers who let us spend the afternoon with them. Pictured are staff members Pam Decker, Bekah Rutz, Megan Havrilla DeHoog, and Matt Greer along with C3F Trustees Carol Timmer and Anna Young.

Manna provides access to nutritious food to individuals experiencing food insecurity. Manna serves a wide demographic of households, primarily working families struggling to make ends meet (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed - or "ALICE"), senior citizens on fixed incomes, and those with disabilities. Proper nutrition is vital to these demographics. The Mobile Pantry program is designed to eliminate transportation barriers and create access to food for vulnerable neighbors wherever they are in Charlevoix County. Providing food for people in need helps to free up their money so they can use it for other household essentials. Manna hopes to empower people to become self-sufficient by allowing vulnerable residents to get ahead in other necessary areas.
