Traverse City Dance Project Free Summer Performance
The event was a resounding success, drawing an estimated audience of approximately 200 individuals of all ages. Due to the open and accessible outdoor setting, the performance created a welcoming environment that allowed attendees to engage freely, reinforcing TCDP’s commitment to accessibility in the arts. The production featured six professional dancers, two apprentices from collegiate dance programs, and a live cellist, showcasing a high level of artistic excellence and professionalism. A notable addition to this year’s event was a free pre-show children’s dance class on the lawn, led by the apprentices. With 8–10 children participating, this class significantly enhanced our community engagement and outreach to young audiences.
TCDP staff shared, “We are deeply grateful for the Charlevoix County Community Foundation’s support in helping us advance our mission of producing and presenting professional dance in Northern Michigan, promoting collaboration among artists and actively engaging with the community through the power of dance and live performance.”
