The Little Traverse Conservancy set themselves a big goal when they worked with the sellers of the largest remaining undeveloped, unprotected shoreline on Lake Michigan in Emmet and Charlevoix Counties last year.
Grant Follow Up
Congratulations on receiving a grant from C3F!
By signing the grant check, you agreed to several conditions, including providing a public announcement of the grant award, and completing some kind of grant follow up that should include photos.
A simple summary of the grant work must be completed in the grant portal within the grant period outlined in your grant award letter, or sooner, if the grant work is completed early.
C3F staff love to see your work in action, when possible. See below for more information on how to invite C3F staff for a site visit.
PROCESS
All grant recipients will need to complete a few short steps in the online system after their grant is complete, even if a site visit has occurred. Providing photos in jpeg format is highly encouraged for all grant follow ups.
If you would like a site visit with C3F staff, please complete this form to help us to schedule an appropriate time to connect with you. If you have questions about how to choose a follow up option, contact Ashley Cousens or Megan Havrilla DeHoog. A digital copy of your grant award letter is connected to your grant in the online grants system.
Grant follow up must be completed by the end of the grant period, or when the grant work has been completed, whichever comes first. Depending on the grant cycle in which your award was made, the grant period may be 6 months or one year. Most grant awards are for one year. The grantee is responsible for completing the grant follow up using the online grant software within the appropriate timeframe. Providing photos with your grant summary is always encouraged. Please submit jpeg or png files. If files are too large to attach, please email them to Ashley or Megan instead. Log in using your email address and password that you used when you submitted your grant request. If you forgot your password, you can reset it on the logon page.
Guidance for Public Announcements
Grantees are required to inform the community of the grant award. Please use the foundation’s name in its entirety “Charlevoix County Community Foundation” when referring to the grant.
Grantees may choose one or more of the following methods to share news: in a newsletter or on a website; using photographs; on social media; on printed materials including posters and brochures; in verbal announcements at events or programs; and/or a press release. When possible, please tag C3F in social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn, or provide a link to our website. Grantees can connect with C3F staff for more guidance as needed.
The C3F may include information about your grant in public reports, newsletters, donor reports, on the C3F website, or through our social media. This includes grant follow up summaries, photographs or videos, logos, and other materials about the grantee organization as it relates to your grant.
Visit our Media Kit page if you need a copy of our logo and graphics or would like sample press release language for your public announcements.
