Nonprofit Resources

We love partnering with nonprofits serving Charlevoix County and working to improve the quality of life for all who live, work, and play here. To the extent possible, we also try to connect nonprofit organizations with useful resources and programs to strengthen their ability to meet their missions and continue to do good work in our area.

LEADERSHIP LEARNING LAB

The Leadership Learning Lab is a 10-month program, running from August to June each year, that combines monthly learning sessions, Q/A sessions, small group learning pods, individual reflection, and ongoing support. The program invests directly in leaders as a way to strengthen their organizations and the communities they serve.

C3F partners with other foundations such as the Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation to sponsor the program, keeping tuition affordable for nonprofit leaders.

The program accepts new applications each year in May with a deadline to apply of June 25.

LEADERSHIP CHARLEVOIX COUNTY

Leadership Charlevoix County is a 9-month program that provides an overview of Charlevoix County; "a taste" of the community in which participants live, work and play. Monthly sessions are immersive community outings, mixed with classroom work, highlighting opportunities, strengths, and challenges in Charlevoix County. Additionally, participants must complete a Community Service Project, working together as a team to identify a need in Charlevoix County and execute the project to completion.

The program accepts applications each summer from May 1 to July 1.

Four courses were spread out from February to September and hosted in the Petoskey area, with IU faculty commuting in to teach sessions on Principles of Fundraising, Campaigns, Annual Sustainability, and Major Gifts.
