Community Foundation Welcomes New Trustees

The Charlevoix County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of two new trustees; Monica Kroondyk and Tim Manchester.   Monica Kroondyk joins the Board of Trustees as a representative from Boyne City.  Monica is the Director of the Boyne District Library, having been promoted to the leadership position after serving eight years in a variety of roles at the Library.  Monica has a BA Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lake Superior State University, and an MA Degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.  A 2013 graduate of Leadership Charlevoix County (LCC), Monica now serves on the LCC Board of Directors.  Monica is also active on the Board of the Boyne Heritage Center and as a member of the Organization Committee for Boyne City Main Street.  Monica lives in Boyne City with her three children, Sadie, Savannah and Spencer.  “I’m so excited to serve as a member of the Community Foundation Board of Trustees,” she said, adding, “it’s such a positive and helpful organization that provides so many resources to advance programs and projects in the community.”

Tim Manchester will represent the Boyne Falls/Walloon Lake area as a member of the Board of Trustees.  Tim is the broker/owner of Manchester Real Estate, specializing in the Walloon lakefront market.  In that capacity Tim works to develop close relationships with his clients while matching the perfect house with their lifestyle.  For more than a decade, Tim has also managed vacation rentals in the Walloon Lake area.  Before starting his brokerage business, Tim worked as an agent with Pat O’Brien and Associates of Boyne City, and previously worked in sales for Patagonia.  Tim earned a BA in Finance from Michigan State University and is a proud Spartan.  He spends his free time skiing, mountain biking and planning for the next adventure with his family.  “It’s an honor to serve the Charlevoix County Community Foundation as a Trustee,” he said, adding, “I’m looking forward to doing what I can to help advance the Foundation’s mission and broaden the organization’s impact here at home.”

Perry Irish Hodgson, Chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, is looking forward to working with the new trustees.  “Monica and Tim are great additions to our crew at the Community Foundation, and they’ll bring their own unique perspectives to our work as a Board.  I’m looking forward to working with all our Trustees and staff as we continue to implement our Strategic Plan and move the Community Foundation forward.”
