About Us
WHO WE ARE
The Charlevoix County Community Foundation is a charitable organization that's dedicated to improving and enriching life for all who live in our area. Founded by a group of local citizens in 1992 with support from the Frey Foundation, the Council of Michigan Foundations, the Malpass Foundation, EJ (formerly East Jordan Iron Works), and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the organization has grown to be a valuable resource for our county. Our nonprofit EIN number is: 38-3033739
WHAT WE DO
We make our community a better place. Every year, the foundation receives gifts of all sizes from hundreds of donors. With assistance from a team of financial managers, the gifts we receive are carefully invested to create a permanent endowment. Earnings from this endowment are used to make grants that support a wide variety of community programs. Each year, our grants encourage environmental stewardship, artistic talent, and economic growth, health and wellness, youth initiatives, recreation, education, and more.
