Valerie Lange grew up in Boyne City and though she lives on the West Coast now, “Northern Michigan is a place I will always consider home,” she says. The lakes, rivers, and hills are favorite features along with the opportunities to access those outdoor activities. “I believe that it is important to preserve natural areas and that taking care of vulnerable animals is a vital part of the community,” says Valerie, and her giving reflects her beliefs.
She credits her family with fostering the habit of giving back: “it is part of our belief system.” Valerie connected with the Community Foundation to help her craft a future gift that will give back here - in her hometown. “The Charlevoix County Community Foundation is an organization that I trust,” she explained.
With a future gift that has no impact on Valerie’s current finances, she has demonstrated her love of community and care for generations to come. The Community Foundation will partner with Valerie to make a difference close to home.
